Interesting article

Crime victim gets child-support check

Although I don’t begrudge the woman her money (she should get it), I wonder what the process would be had it been a child support payer that had been stabbed?  Would they have helped him out with his debts?

And the a second voice crying out in the wilderness.

Chillicothe Gazette – www.chillicothegazette.com – Chillicothe, OH

There are a couple of things about this article that are very interesting.  First off, we have a "NCP" and a "CP" teaming up to talk about the injustices of the family court system in this country.  Since when did you ever hear of NCPs and CPs on the web having that sort of cooperation.

Secondly, Mark talks about how hard it is to get the law enforcement to do anything about child custody when the other parent uses the child as a hostage:

"The children can be used as a pawn," Williamson said. "I can’t count the weekends I get denied custody. If you don’t have legal guardianship, the sheriff can’t do anything but file a claim, then you have to wait a year for that to go through."

Now, how many of you think a CSE would wait around a year before going after child support?  They’d be jumping up and down after a week.

In any event, big props to Mark and Rebekah for finding common ground and agreeing that, NCP or CP, the system straight up sucks.
